Left-arm spinner Inuka Karannagoda completed a match bag of ten wickets as Mahanama beat St. Benedict’s by five wickets in the Under 19 Division I Tier ‘A’ tournament Group ‘X” match at Kotahena on Friday.

Karannagoda was joined by Rashmika Perera and Gimantha Dissanayake to restrict the Bens to 152 runs in the second innings. Inuka picked up four wickets for 47 runs as he bowled the bulk of overs (26.5 out of 68.5 overs) for Mahanama.

Later, they reached a victory target of 61 runs for the loss of five wickets with 2.5 overs to spare.

The victory will help Mahanama take an early lead in the points table in their group where Trinity, Richmond, Royal, Prince of Wales, De Mazenod, St. Anne’s, St. Thomas’ Matara and Maris Stella, Negombo are the other teams.
