Intertek/ MMBL-Pathfinder Joint Venture to set up Advanced Petroleum-Testing Lab in Hambantota Port

Intertek Lanka Ltd., a joint venture between Intertek Group PLC and MMBL-Pathfinder will invest in a state-of-the-art testing laboratory at the Hambantota International Port, a company news release said.

“This facility will be unique to Sri Lanka and will provide innovative and bespoke assurance, testing, inspection and certification services,” it said.

In a virtual ceremony, Intertek Lanka Ltd. and the Hambantota International Port signed an agreement for a 10-year partnership, which provides Intertek Lanka the opportunity to establish its services in the port. This new venture will enable HIP’s clients to get their products such as fuel oil and marine diesel tested efficiently as the petroleum laboratory will be within the port premises, the release explained.
