Institute of Hairdressers and Beauticians hosts graduation ceremony
The Institute of Hairdressers and Beauticians (IHB), a pioneer in hair and beauty education in Sri Lanka and the South Asian region, hosted their graduation ceremony for the period 2020-2021 at Marino Beach Colombo. The ceremony saw 60 students passing through the ranks of the IHB Academy in Sri Lanka for the years 2020 and 2021, across both the Diploma in Hairdressing and Diploma in Beauty Therapy course categories. Held on a grand scale, the ceremony involved a host of high-profile guests from the local hair and beauty industry and beyond, together with IHB’s examiners, trainers, students as well as their well-wishers.
The event included inspirational addresses from several VIP guests, offering practical advice for the professionals entering the industry plus encouragement on the massive potential within the hair and beauty industry to revive the national economy subsequent to the challenges experienced over the past two years on account of COVID-19. In addition to the handing out of certificates and awards to the latest batch of graduates, special recognition was given to three IHB students for their outstanding performance at the exams and national hair and beauty contests. Renowned regionally as the premier academy for hair and beauty education and certifications, IHB was the brainchild of Chairperson Nayana Karunaratne, a pioneer and thought leader in the South Asian hair and beauty industry with a successful chain of salons across both Sri Lanka and India.
