Inquiary regarding altered pitch condition at Asgiriya yet to be conducted

Trinity were 183 for five wickets at stumps in reply to Maris Stella’s 106 runs on day one of their Under 19 match at Asgiriya on Monday.

Trinity were playing their first match more than a week after their controvertial match against De Mazenod at Asgiriya was abandoned at the start of the second day. The match was abandoned when match officials ruled that the pitch had been altered overnight.

Sri Lanka Schools Cricket Association, the organisers of the tournament is yet to conduct an official inquiary regarding the offence more than a week after the abandonment of the match.

According to a senior official of the SLSCA, the schools cricket governinig body had obtained details regarding the incident and will conduct an official inquiary soon.

Royal post 176 runs thanks to Rehan’s half century

Royal posted 176 runs against De Mazenod thanks to a half century by Rehan Peiris on day one of the Diviaion I encounter at Reid Avenue. For the visitors, Kavindu Kaushalya grabbed five wickets.

At Ananda Mawatha Dilana Damsara top scored with 77 runs for St. Peter’s to post 220 runs against Ananda College. In their essay Ananda were 73 for two wickets at stumps.
