Indian trawler and ten fishermen detained in Sri Lankan waters

The Sri Lanka Navy conducted a special operation to chase away Indian  trawlers poaching in Sri Lankan waters on the evening of 14th January 2024.

The operation led to the seizure of 01 Indian trawler with 10 Indian fishermen which was  poaching in Sri Lankan waters north of Point Pedro, Jaffna. The apprehended Indian fishermen and  trawler  were brought to the Kankasanthurai harbour and were to be handed over to the Mailadi Fisheries Inspector for onward legal action
