Indian HC visits KDU

India is exploring the possibility of further strengthening relations with the Sri Lankan defence establishment, the Indian High Commission in Colombo says. Deputy High Commissioner Vinod K. Jacob visited the General Sir John Kotelawala Defence University (KDU) on Tuesday (6),  at the invitation of Vice Chancellor of KDU Major General Milinda Peiris.

Deputy Vice Chancellor Brigadier Nanda Hathurusinghe and senior officials of KDU were also present on the occasion. Jacob held discussions on ongoing and potential areas of collaboration including institutional linkages of KDU with Indian think – tanks and academic institutions, student exchanges and Research and Development. Jacob also briefly toured the Sir John Kotelawala Museum. Vice Chancellor  Major General Peiris fondly recalled his training stints in India and highlighted that India offered the maximum number of training slots for Sri Lankan defence personnel.
