Indian firm offers short term solution to meet LNG needs of CEB
Power and Energy Minister Kanchana Wijesekera yesterday said that while a long-term plan for LNG was being finalised, options for short term solution to reduce the cost of generation in the next 24 months from the 600+ MW of LNG power plants available would be pursued.
Indian energy company, Petronet LNG Limited, has presented Minister Wijesekara with short-term immediate solutions for the CEB’s LNG requirements.Minister thanked Indian High Commissioner Gopal Baglay for his efforts to assist Sri Lanka.Officials attached to the Ministry of Power and Energy, the CEB and Petroleum Resources Development Secretariat and Petronet LNG attended the discussion.
