Indian author Bhasin presents books to HC Moragoda

Prominent Indian author A.S. Bhasin presented a set of books authored by him to the library of the High Commission of Sri Lanka in New Delhi recently. His five-volume monumental book on India Sri Lanka Relations and Sri Lanka’s Ethnic Conflict, compiling documents from 1947 to 2000 is an incomparable research work on Indo- Lanka relations were handed over to the High Commissioner of Sri Lanka to India Milinda Moragoda by Bhasin at the event held High Commissioners Galary at High Commission office in Delhi.

A.S. Bhasin retired from the Ministry of External Affairs of India in 1993 as Director historical division after three decades of service. Since retirement, he has taken to academic research. He was senior fellow of the Indian Council of Historical Research and then honorary fellow at the Institute of Contemporary Studies, Nehru Memorial Museum and Library. His area of research has been India’s relations with neighbouring countries. He has over the years compiled documents on India’s relations with Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and Nepal.

Former High Commissioners of India to Sri Lanka, Ambassadors Gopal Krishna Gandhi, Alok Prasad, Ashok K. Kantha, Y.K. Sinha and Dr. Ritu Chhatwal, daughter of former High Commissioner S.J.S. Chhatwal and Madurendra Nath Jha, son of former High Commissioner N.N. Jha as well as Ambassador Mohan Kumar and Deputy National Security Advisor of India Ambassador Vikram Misri who had served as Deputy High Commissioners at the High Commission of India in Colombo were present on the occasion.
