Immunoglobulin scandal: Addl. Health Secretary makes confidential statement

Additional Secretary of the Health Ministry, Dr. Saman Ratnayake, arrested by the CID and remanded over the procurement of a stock of fake immunoglobulin, made a four-hour confidential statement to the Maligakanda Magistrate Lochini Abeywickrema yesterday (06).

Dr. Ratnayake, a brother of Nuwara Eliya District MP C. B. Ratnayake, offered to make a confidential statement soon after he was taken in. Altogether eight persons, including former Health Minister Keheliya Rambukwella and ex-Health Secretary Janaka Chandragupta have been remanded till March 14, pending further investigations.
