Illegal sand mining in Manthai:Eight arrested

A team of personnel from the Geological Survey and Mines Bureau (GSMB) arrested eight persons, over the weekend, for illegal sand mining at Manthai, Mannar.

The GSMB team acted on a tip-off.

The GSMB team also took three tractors and an excavator into custody.

The raid was conducted with the help of the Manthai police.
