Ice Age Discontents
By Lynn Ockersz
Pained eyes looking into the horizon,
And finding nothing there for them,
Save stiffer bills and starvation diets,
Have taken to ‘Ice’ and its enticements,
So much so the Indian Ocean Pearl,
Is wilting in drug abuse and criminality,
But on the young let’s not be harsh,
Because they emulate their elders,
Who are in this case very much remiss,
For, they have failed in moral leadership,
Easily forgetting the most wise saying,
That ‘We become, what we think’.
