Husband wife duo to promote tourism with first beauty pageants in UAE

Miss, Mr and Mrs. Sri Lanka will be staged in Dubai in UAE for the first time at the end of April . This will give a boost to Sri Lanka as a tourist destination said Rafealla Fernando,pageant organiser, international photographer and a fashion icon. She said the first pageant ‘Mrs. Sri Lanka in Europe’ was held at Crown Plaza Hotel in Verona Italy in April 2016 which was a success. Due to its success we formed an Event Management Company and plan to host many similar events inviting Sri Lankans to participate here and abroad.

Her partner Ishi Peiris, a professional in the beauty industry with sixteen years of experience in hair and beauty industry, has launched I&S Fashion and Beauty Style Salon in Italy.

Mr Suranga Fernando and Mrs Ishi Peiris consequently planned and engineered the first Mrs. Sri Lanka in Europe Pageant Contest that was held on April 24 2016, in Verona and they successfully organised Miss, Mr and Mrs Sri Lanka in Europe 2018/19 in Verona.

This was followed by several such events like, Flashbag live in concert, in Verona 2012, Halloween Fashion Night and Summer up Fashion Show in Verona in 2015, Sri Lankan Bridal Elegance in Italy in 2018 and several musical shows.

Some of the high profile personalities that served as the panel of Judges attending these pageants included, the Mayor of Colombo Sri Lanka Rosy Senanayake, Srimali Fonseka (Mrs International World Classic 2018) Himali Gunasekara (Former Mrs. Sri Lanka, Kosh Hewage,award winning celebrity designer, and many others of international fame.

Raffealla has also been invited by the organisers of the ‘Mr., Miss and Mrs. Sri Lanka in Dubai 2023’ to take over the reins as their international fashion consultant, and main organizer.
