How Ratnapura hospital coped in the absence of PCR machine revealed
Health Minister Pavithra Wanniarachchi yesterday (4) revealed that for want of a PCR machine, the Ratnapura hospital had depended on equipment at the Tea Research Center for Low Country region and the Sabaragamuwa University since March 2020.
The revelation was made at the handing over of a PCR machine to the Ratnapura hospital.
It was revealed that State owned banks and several other public and private enterprises had provided funding to the tune of Rs 5 mn to procure a machine after Director of the Ratnapura hospital pointed out the grave shortcoming at the District Covid-19 Coordinating Committee meeting chaired by Sabaragamuwa Governor Tikiri Kobbekaduwa (SF)
