Hooch distillery raided, two arrested

The Kalutara police, over the weekend, raided an illicit brewery housed in the same building as a licenced toddy collection centre at Welipitiya.

Police said that the licence holder had been arrested.

The police took into custody two suspects together with 27,000 litres of hooch and paraphernalia used for the illegal operation.

Police said that the suspects and the items taken into custody would be produced before the Kalutara Magistrate.
