High demand for firewood in North

Northern residents are increasingly turning to firewood due to the high price of gas and chronic shortages.

They said a few months before they had found it hard to sell a few bundles of firewood a day, but now their stock of firewood was usually over by noon every day.

Firewood sellers who operate on cycles carry bundles worth Rs. 1,800, while those who operate on motorcycle haul bundles amounting to Rs. 2,500.
