Her ideal guy… interesting description
Morina Dass, who resides in California, occupies our Chit-Chat seat, this week. In 2016, she was crowned Ms. California State America, and continues to be in the fashion spotlight, in a big way. Morina is a AVP Senior Bankruptcy Specialist, at Bank of America – Los Angeles. And, this is how our Chit-Chat went…
1. How would you describe yourself?
A very kind-hearted, honest, straightforward person, who always value nothing, but humanity. I can’t handle ungrateful and selfish people. If someone offered me a glass of water when I’m really thirsty, I will remember that person for the rest of my life. That’s how much I practice and value gratitude.
2. If you could change one thing about yourself, what would it be?
If I change anything about myself, I wouldn’t be the person who I am today. I love myself and I am very happy the way I am. Therefore, no changes, whatsoever!
3. If you could change one thing about your family, what would it be?
My family is perfect, as it is today, but I always wish If could bring back my two brothers, who suddenly passed away, due to a tragic accident, sometime back, in Sri Lanka.
4. School?
Little Flower Convent, Tangalle, and Bandarawella, and Pierce College, Los Angeles, in the States.
5. Happiest moment?
I believe, for every woman, the happiest day of their life is when they become a mother. Becoming a mother was the most happiest and precious moment in my life. I felt like I’m the richest, in the whole world, twice in my lifetime.
6. What is your idea of perfect happiness?
Perfect happiness, for me, is my mental health.; stay away from negative and toxic people.
7. Are you religious?
I don’t know if I’m religious but I am a strong believer of Buddhism, and Buddhism is not entirely a religious faith, alone… rather it is more like a science of mind as it offers room for reasoning and logic. Because of Buddha’s scientific approach, to religion, he could be referred to as someone who was a teacher, philosopher and scientist. So, Buddhism is mostly a philosophy. However, I strongly follow the Buddhist philosophy.
8. Are you superstitious?
I’m not superstitious, but I believe the universal law and law of attraction. It’s a pseudoscience, based on the belief that positive, or negative thoughts, bring positive, or negative experiences, into a person’s life.
9. Your ideal guy?
A gentleman, who is polite, respectful, considerate and attentive to a woman’s needs. He should be Direct, Faithful, Integrity, Honest, Mature, Self-Confident, Has a Positive Attitude, and be Grateful. He should be able to treat me like a lady, not a trophy. Most likely, someone who can keep me mentally peaceful and healthy. Otherwise, dealing with toxic relationships can, ourselves, lead to, possibly, ending up being mentally ill, too. I never value the wealth of my ideal guy, or won’t expect too much, but rather be someone who can treat me like a human being, would be more than enough:)
10. Which living person do you most admire?
Russian President Vladimir Putin. I admire his strength, and “great control over his country.” He’s the Best Ruler.
11. Which is your most treasured possession?
I would say my most precious treasures are my my children…my two angels – son Kobe and daughter Zorianna .
12. If you were marooned on a desert island, who would you like as your companion?
I would say, one more time, the Russian President Vladimir Putin (Lol). I would learn every possible technique of how to be a great ruler.
13. Your most embarrassing moment?
Okay, one time I was at work, on a corporate conference call, with over 40 Bankruptcy Attorneys, around the USA . I forgot to mute my phone, during the call, and started singing a few lines of Shakira’s “Hips Don’t Lie “(Lol). I was so embarrassed because I’m not a good singer at all. However, I ended up making everyone laugh !
14. Done anything daring?
To be honest, I would say, most of my life, I’ve done so many daring things. I wouldn’t even hesitate to bring a random person home, and keep and help if I see someone needs help. I know this sounds very dangerous. But I have done it a few times. I would put myself in danger to save someone…wouldn’t even think twice if I have to drive, in the middle of the night, to a very dangerous neighbourhood, to save a life . This is my weakness. I always think about others, more than myself.
15. Your ideal vacation?
My ideal vacation would be anywhere, as long as I can be peaceful with my loved ones. It could be even at my home.
16. What kind of music are you into?
I’m mostly into Sri Lankan and Bollywood music. But I started listening to jazz, lately, and I do love jazz music, too.
17. Favourite radio station:
iHeart Radio – 102.7 Kiss FM Los Angeles.
18. Favourtie TV station:
Believe it or not, I don’t watch TV. Having two teenagers, at home, I prefer not to keep a TV, in my living area.
19. What would you like to be born as in your next life?
Nirvana represents the final goal of Buddhism. I definitely wish to reach the Supreme Bliss of nibbana, after this life time, to end this suffering of samsara.
20. Any major plans for the future?
Hoping to give a helping hand to upcoming pageants, in Los Angeles, by coaching a few delegates this year. Other than that, just focusing on my career goals and my beautiful family. Continue to do good, as usual , but strictly staying away from ungrateful people, as much as possible. Buddhism teaches “It’s never easy to handle ungrateful people , but if they’re taking a negative toll on your life, you owe it to yourself to take steps to prevent that from happening any longer and completely stay away from them.”
