In continued efforts to support as many communities as possible during turbulent times of the pandemic, Hemas Consumer Brands recently lent a helping hand through several donation campaigns. Since the beginning of the Covid-19 pandemic in 2020, Hemas Consumer Brands provided a high level of assistance for communities affected by the pandemic and the health care sector, by donating essential goods, personal care products and much needed equipment to the health care sector.

The past three months saw Hemas Consumer Brands swiftly taking steps to address the urgent needs of several identified communities when the pandemic reached new heights. The donation campaigns from June to August 2021 started with a donation to the Prime Minister’s office for underprivileged students in the Hambantota area. On a request, Hemas Consumer Brands donated sanitary napkins to flood victims of the Gampaha area. Furthermore, Hemas Consumer Brands took steps to donate essential goods to families residing in Theldeniya who were affected by food shortage and water requirements. Hemas Consumer Brands also supported the SAARC Women’s Association by providing personal care products to be distributed among impoverished families.

While fulfilling the urgent needs of communities, Hemas stepped forward to strengthen the health care sector from the beginning of the pandemic. Hemas recently donated essential personal care products to the Covid-19 intermediary care center of the National Hospital, the Covid-19 ward of Homagama Hospital, the Covid Patient Management Facility at the National Hospital and the Department of Ayurveda.

“We believe as Sri Lankans, we need to help each other in order to come out of these struggles the country is facing right now. At Hemas Consumer Brands, we prioritize the health, wellbeing and safety of our communities and by being with them during these challenging times, we ensure to fulfill their necessities with every possible way we can. The entire Hemas team has rallied behind the donations with the purpose of focusing on the welfare of these communities. We hope to expand these initiatives further and support the most vulnerable groups in the country.” said Fiona Juriansz Munasinghe – Director Marketing, Hemas Consumer Brands.
