Health sector TUs to launch token strike on Thursday 

Health sector trade unions have decided to launch a token strike on Thursday (03) across the entire health sector of the country.

The strike is to be launched over several issues including the shortage of medicines at state hospitals and the procurement of substandard drugs.

Representatives of unions of the health sector are scheduled to meet in Colombo tomorrow (02) to forge a national movement to protect the lives of patients.

The protesting trade unions have called for the immediate withdrawal of the decision taken by the Health Ministry Secretary to suppress the voices of health professionals raising questions about corrupt deals in the health sector.
