Health Ministry calls for urgent report over claims of impending drug shortage

Amidst claims that the country would soon experience a serious shortage of as many as 80 essential drugs, the Health Ministry yesterday (11) called for a report on the drug requirements for the next few months.

The report was called at a meeting chaired by Health Minister Keheliya Rambukwella and attended by State Minister Dr. Channa Jayasumana.

A statement issued by the ministry yesterday evening said that the report was expected by today (12).
