Harin officially renounces his MP’s salary for one year

SJB MP Harin Fernando yesterday officially renounced his parliamentary salary for a period of one year.

In a letter addressed to the Secretary General of Parliament, the MP said: “I am not pushing other MPs to do the same. However, it would be great to see them doing so as the public will see that we as their representatives are also willing to make sacrifices just like our fellow country men and women are doing during these difficult times,” Fernando said in the letter.
