Hard court tennis singles semi-finals today

Saajeda Razick, Janali Manamperi, Tuvini de Alwis and Dinetya Dharmarathne will vie for final spots in the women’s singles, while Thangaraja Dineshkanthan, Kiran Virawanathan, Gayanga Weerasekara and Apna Perera compete for the men’s singles final places when the semi-finals of the Sri Lanka Tennis Association conducted Hard Courts Nationals 2023 commences today.

The tournament which commenced on March 20 is conducted at Royal College, Queens Club and SLTA courts. It is set to conclude on April 6.

In the women’s singles quarter-finals Saajeda Razick beat Dinara de Silva 6-4, 6-1, Dinetya Dharmarathne  beat Nesangi Hemakumara 6-3, 3-6, 6-3 and Janali Manamperi emerged victorious against Anjalika Kurera (6-2, 4-2) after the latter retired. Tuvini de Alwis advanced to the semi-final after Inuki Jayaweera (5-5) retired.

In the Under 12 boys’ singles final Damsath Peiris of Ananda College beat Yudeeraya  Atapaththu  6-4, 3-6, 7-5

Men’s singles quarter-final results  

Kiran Virawanathan beat Sanka Athukorala 5-7, 7-5, 6-2.

Tangaraja Dineshkanthan received a walkover from Shamal Dissanayake

Gayanga Weerasekara beat Dilvan Herath 7-6, 6-1

Apna Perera beat Thehan Wijemanne 6-3, 6-1
