Granting of licenses to Sri Lankans working abroad to import fully electric vehicles extended till 30th June 2024

It has been decided at the Cabinet meeting held on 08-01-2024 to extend the validity period of the scheme of granting license/permit to import fully electric vehicles for Sri Lankans employed abroad till 30.6.2024.

Accordingly, the Cabinet of Ministers when they met on 04-03-2024 approved the proposal presented by the President in his capacity as the Minister of Finance, Economic Stabilization and National Policies of to submit the Import and Export Control Regulations No. 2 of 2024 issued under the Import and Export Control Act No. 1 of 1969 to parliament for approval.
