Govt. to equip more hospitals to treat Covid patients

The government intends to equip more hospitals to treat Covid-19 patients in the wake of the daily count being between 500-600 . Health Minister Pavithra Wanniarachchi yesterday (16) announced the move at a meeting attended by senior officials engaged in the government effort. She directed that required funds be made available through the Health Ministry and additional funding, if necessary, be obtained from World Bank and Asian Development Bank. The government moved to expand the facilities as the total number of Corona positive cases moved closer to 35,000, with 157 deaths and nearly 26,000 recoveries.(SF)
