Govt to come up with solution to teachers’ salary anomalies?

The government will hold crucial discussions today and tomorrow and take steps to resolve teachers’ salary issue over the coming week, according to a senior Minister.

“This would be done in a such a manner as to protect the dignity of our teachers,” said Environment Minister Mahinda Amaraweera.

 Speaking as a member of the ministerial sub committee appointed on teacher’s salary issue, Amaraweera said it had held discussions during the past several days.

“We also met some teacher unions and we will meet several other unions before working out a solution.”

The sub committe would submit its findings and recommendations to the Cabinet, Amaraweera said.
