Govt to appoint two Admirals, Air Chief Marshal as ambassadors

ECONOMYNEXT –Parliament’s committee on high posts had approved the appointment of three retired military personnel as high commissioners and ambassador to Pakistan, Cuba and Nepal.

The approval of the Committee on High Posts was received for the appointments of two new High Commissioners and an Ambassador, Kushani Rohanadeera, Secretary General of the Parliament stated.Admiral (retd) Ravindra Chandrasiri Wijegunaratne was appointed High Commissioner of Sri Lanka to the Islamic Republic of Pakistan.

Admiral (retd) Damith Nishantha Sirisoma Ulugetenne was appointed High Commissioner of Sri Lanka to the Republic of Cuba.Air Chief Marshal (retd) Sudarshan Karagoda Pathirana was appointed Ambassador of Sri Lanka to Nepal.
