Govt. ready to face 2021 – Gota

Despite overwhelming challenges, the government was able to lay the foundation for sustainable development, President Gotabaya Rajapaksa said in his New Year Message.

“The government is ready to strengthen the hopes of the people placed on us. We were brought into power to ensure a people-centric development and to establish a national identity. We will never betray the trust the people placed on us,” Rajapaksa said.

The President said that the government is determined to fulfill the promises given in its manifesto. “It is important for the public and private sectors to work together to achieve these goals. If all state servants carry out the tasks entrusted to them, we can overcome any obstacle. I expect that commitment from all state servants,” he said.

The government has the confidence and plans to face the coming year, he said.
