Govt. politicians benefiting from crises; X-Press Pearl disaster only one instance: JVP

JVP leader Anura Kumara Dissanayake told Parliament, on Thursday, that the government ministers had no genuine desire to find solutions to problems that woe the nation as they have opted to make the most of those crises to line their pockets.

“This has been the bane of this country throughout history. The rulers never tried to find solutions to problems people are facing. Instead they see them as opportunities to earn money. The latest instance is the X-Press Pearl crisis. The way the fraudsters in the House were pointing fingers at each other shows that money has changed hands. It is pathetic to see these rulers, who have now amassed dollars out of this crisis, trying to divert the attention of the public from reality.
