Govt. cannot silence JVP with threats – Tilvin
by Saman Indrajith
The government could not silence either the JVP or its leader Anura Kumara Dissanayake, MP by threatening legal action, General Secretary Tilvin Silva said yesterday.
“The JVP has survived bullets and bombs. We can understand that President Gotabaya Rajapaksa is now angry because it is the JVP which put paid his government’s efforts to sell the East Container Terminal of the Colombo Port. President Rajapaksa is furious because Comrade Dissanayake exposes wrongdoings of the government in Parliament.”
“We call on all forces that have reposed their faith in democracy to join us and stand up to the oppressive regime,” Silva said.
