Govt. asks IMF to reconsider its demand for more tax hikes

Justice Minister Dr. Wijeyadasa Rajapakshe told Parliament yesterday (03) that the International Monetary Fund (IMF) had been informed that taxes couldn’t be further increased. The Minister said that the government expected to initiate discussions with the IMF in that regard. The government wanted the IMF to reconsider its demand, he said.
