Govt. Analyst’s reports on various court productions still not received

On Tuesday, the Colombo Chief Magistrate’s Court ordered the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) to obtain the Government Analyst’s reports on various court productions related to the investigation into the death of businessman Dinesh Schaffter.

Colombo Additional Magistrate Rajindra Jayasuriya noted that the court had not yet received the analytical reports including one on several blood samples, from the Government Analyst.

The Additional Magistrate instructed the CID to take the necessary steps to obtain those reports from the Government Analyst.

The Additional Magistrate mentioned that if required, she could send a reminder to the Government Analyst regarding the pending reports.

The body of businessman Dinesh Shaffter was recently exhumed in the presence of a panel of medical experts appointed to conduct a fresh post-mortem inquiry in order to determine the cause of his death.
