Governor visits dairy farmers

Eastern Province Governor Anuradha Yahampath Sunday visited dairy farmers in Divulapathana-Ayilaththamadu area, where a recent dispute arose as she had allocated those lands to farmers for cultivation and TNA MPs opposed the allotment stating that they were traditional grasslands of Tamil cattle-farmers. Among those associated with the Governor were Senior Lecturers in Zoology of Peradeniya University Dr M.B.P. Kumara Mahipala, Director of Provincial Livestock Resources Development Department (LRDD), Dr F.A. Fazzi, Batticaloa District Director LRDD, Dr Uthaya Rani, Regional Manager of MILCO, A Kulasuriya, MILCO Batticaloa District Manager Lathil Dissanayake, Project Director of Maduruoya Project of Mahaweli Authority D. Nilantha and local government authorities.
