KANDY- Governor Central Province Lalith U. Gamage attending a virtual photographic exhibition in Kandy to mark the International Day of Tourism invited the youth there to enter the field of tourism for their benefit and the benefit of the country.

Governor Gamage said that there was an abundant potential for tourism in the central province in comparison to other parts of the country. The photographic exhibition was held at the Kandy City Centre with the support of the SLBC Kanduratasevaya.

Governor Gamage attending the inauguration of the exhibition urged the youth to come forward to promote tourism in the province with commitment with the same spirit the youth had in the recent past with attractive paintings across the country.

The Governor said that Sri Lanka required the cooperation of the youth to rebuild the national economy that was affected by the deadly COVID pandemic.

The most important was to restore the tourism sector as the industry brought in much needed foreign currency required to raise the country’s economy, Gamage said.

The Governor pointed out that the central province had rich potential for tourism with the presence of natural scenic environment, climate, arts, crafts and history. The youth of the province could rise personally along with the country.

Governor Gamage presented certificates to the participants of the photo exhibition.
