Government announces establishment of new Sports University in 2024

State Minister for Sports and Youth Affairs, Rohana Dissanayake, during a press conference held at the Presidential Media Centre (PMC) on Friday (10), under the theme ‘Collective path to a stable country disclosed the government’s ambitious plan to inaugurate a new sports university in 2024.

Minister Dissanayake said that the projected cost of establishing the National Sports University of Sri Lanka was approximately one billion US dollars and is set to commence operations in the first quarter of 2024 pending approvals from the University Grants Commission.
