GMOA meet President Wickremesinghe

The newly elected  office bearers of the Government Medical Officers’ Association (GMOA) met  President Ranil Wickremesinghe at the Presidential Secretariat on Thursday (27) afternoon.

The delegation led by GMOA President  Dr. Darshana Sirisena comprised of Dr. Haritha Aluthge (Secretary GMOA), Vice Presidents Dr. Chandika Epitakaduwa, Dr. Hemantha Rajapaksa, Dr. Bodhika Samarasekera and Dr. S. Mathivanan.

The GMOA handed over a proposal to President Wickremesinghe requesting for the introduction  of a new salary structure based on market value and performance, the revision of the salaries of doctors undergoing internship training to prevent brain drain and the revision of allowances for doctors.

President Wickremesinghe, enlightened the GMOA about the urgent reforms which are to be carried out in the health sector of the country and requested the GMOA to submit proposals in this regard as well.
