Diamonds are a girls best friend specially when it is from the handcrafted pave diamond collection launched recently by ‘Tiesh’.
The pave diamond collection from ‘Tiesh’ comprise of necklaces, pendants, earnings. Rings and anklets all exquisitely designed and meticulously handcrafted with passion and precision.
Ayesh de Fonseka whose family founded ‘Tiesh’ when interviewed by the Sunday Island said that Pave is a French word pronounced as paevy and describes a setting of gemstones set in such a way that no metal is visible.
How did you make the transition into design?
“Well I would like to clarify that I do not design as we have a brilliant team of designers at Tiesh. I give them the concept or inspiration and help them to home in on the designs. My expertise is more on gemology and marketing”.
What inspired you to come up with the pave diamond collection?
“The collection is a range of best quality golden yellow, rose and white diamonds in a pave setting. The jewelleryis unique, simple and elegant and the price range is affordable. The pave collection is something all of us at Tiesh were keen on introducing before the festive season”.
For whom is the pave
collection more suited?
“For every female, as I said it is simple and elegant and suits everyone. Due to the attractive price range it would be more popular with the younger ladies. I would love to see every female wearing something from Tiesh”
What’s your philosophy behind the designs?
“Styles and fashions change, class is permanent. So, I try to keep even the smallest item at Tiesh classy and elegant which could be worn for many years”
In just a few words how would you describe Tiesh?
“The Premier jewellery brand in Sri Lanka for the best quality lery and the best designs”
Future plans?
“We have some new plans in the pipeline for the new year and it is going to be a surprise”
What’s your favorite piece from the ‘Pave collection’ ?
We have a beautiful Eternity Circle Pendant I think is is perfect”
What is the most expensive piece of jewellery at Tiesh?
“In terms of price it would be the 54 carat blue sapphire and diamond necklace which is a masterpiece”
