Gimshan hammers 149 runs as Ananda beat DSS

Centuries by Iruth Gimshan of Ananda College and Dhanuja Induwara of Mahinda College and a five wicket haul by left-arm spinner Jerom Thilina of De La Sale were the highlights as Ananda, Mahinda and Royal won their Inter School Under 17 Division I encounters played on Friday.
Gimshan scored 149 runs in 141 balls inclusive of 15 fours and six sixes and Sachin Jayasinghe came up with all round performances for Ananda as the visitors romped to a huge 177 runs victory over D.S. Senanayake in their match played at D.S. Senanayake College ground.
Sachin took two wickets after cracking a quick fire 67 runs which came in 48 balls. His knock included seven fours and a six.
In the match played at Galle International Stadium, Mahinda posted 263 runs against Sri Devananda as Induwara top scored with 122 runs. Devananda were dismissed for 102 runs.
At Reid Avenue, Royal cruised to a 92 runs victory over De La Sale as the latter were restricted to 112 runs. De La Sale conceded as many as 55 extras but left-arm spinner Jerom Thilina gave some consolation as he produced impressive figures picking up five wickets (8.5-1-32-5).
