German business delegation explores opportunities of cooperation in energy solutions
On the occasion of a virtual German Business delegation, the Delegation of German Industry and Commerce in Sri Lanka (AHK Sri Lanka) organized a conference on Energy Efficiency and Self-sufficiency in Industry to promote opportunities of cooperation in the field of energy efficient solutions. About 200 representatives of business, politics and media from Sri Lanka and Germany joined the virtual event which was organized within the frame of the German “Energy Solutions made in Germany” Initiative of the German Ministry of Economic Affairs and Energy.
The conference was opened by State Minister of Solar, Wind and Hydro Power Generation Projects Development Duminda Dissanayake, the German Ambassador to Sri Lanka and the Maldives Holger Seubert and Chief Delegate of German Industry and Commerce in Sri Lanka Andreas Hergenröther.
Chief Delegate of AHK Sri Lanka, Andreas Hergenröther pointed out: “In 2020 45,4% of Germany’s electricity production was generated from renewables, with regards to Energy efficiency in industry and buildings, Germany has become a globally recognized leader. For many years German companies have been worldwide leading solution providers in different areas of energy efficiency and renewable energies. I am therefore very pleased to welcome a very innovative and diversified German business delegation providing key solutions in the fields of inverter technology, storage/battery technologies, waste to energy including planning and implementation of turnkey projects, digital monitoring of heat exchanger systems and solar water treatment systems as well as Solar Water filtration and disinfection. I am convinced there is a huge potential of cooperation with Sri Lankan partners, which will be explored during the upcoming days”.
