Gammanpila warns of premeditated violence …

Pivithu Hela Urumaya leader Udaya Gammanpila yesterday (01) warned that tomorrow’s protest could be a ruse to trigger violence. The former Energy Minister alleged that those behind the protest, scheduled to begin at 3 pm tomorrow, were exploiting the unprecedented economic crisis for their advantage.

Gammanpila said as those who had been experiencing extreme difficulties were in an angry mode, they could be easily influenced. The PHU leader said that in case the protest turned violent as a result of premeditated acts, the government would conveniently place the blame on the public.
