Galle Face beggars to be sent to Ridiyagama

The Ports, Shipping and Aviation Ministry yesterday (26) announced that the beggars frequenting Galle Face Green would be relocated to the Social Services Rehabilitation Centre at Ridiyagama in the Hambantota District.

The Ministry has instructed the relevant authorities to carry out the relocation of beggars in a joint operation to be carried out by the Sri Lanka Ports Authority and the Police Department. The Ministry estimated the number of beggars, based there, at 150.
