Fuel quota to be increased again next month

Minister of Power and Energy Kanchana Wijesekara said yesterday that fuel quotas would be further increased next month.The decision had been taken after evaluating fuel stocks and needs, he said.

The Minister, in a Twitter message, said that the fuel cargo plan and supply for the next six months had been reviewed with the Ceylon Petroleum Corporation (CPC).

“Fuel import plans, refinery operations, refinery upgrade proposals, QR quotas, storage capacity, stock automation, agreements with fuel stations, and distribution had been reviewed and discussed,” he said.
