FSP Leader calls for reviving Aragalaya
By Saman Indrajith
The Frontline Socialist Party tells members of JVP-led NPP and SJB that there is no point in pressuring the incumbent government to hold elections, and the need is to revive Aragalaya to oust the incumbent regime.
Addressing an FSP meeting in Bandarawela, the party’s General Secretary Kumar Gunaratnam said: “This government would never conduct an election. It keeps trotting out lame excuses. We must not waste our time and energy asking for elections. We must send the government home by resuming Aragalaya.
Gunaratnam found fault with his erstwhile colleagues of the JVP-led NPP for asking the government to hold elections instead of mobilizing the people. “Our friends of the NPP were waiting for an election on March 9, thereafter on March 27. Now, they say they are ready to fight for another year if needed to get an election. They do not have any other slogan apart from elections.”
