Friends – now and then!

While our entertainers will have to brace themselves for hard times ahead, due to the resurgence of Covid-19 in our scene, in certain parts of Europe, there is work for those in the entertainment business.

One outfit, with local connection, that never seems out of work, is Friends the band.

They are based in Germany and keep travelling, once in two weeks, to venues, in that region, as well as to Switzerland…and even Holland!

Right now, they are at The Rest/Bar Sonne, in Zurich, Switzerland – till October 15th.

Friends the band is now made up of two Sri Lankans, with Nihar Hamid, on drums, and with Kristine and Joy handling the vocals.

In the meanwhile, Friends’ original female vocalist, Suzi Croner (Flückiger) continues to upload songs for the listening pleasure of her fans, and friends, on social media.

He latest is a country gospel song, called ‘Travelling On,’ and she reminisces the past, saying:

“Reminds me of these guys (the group Friends) as we were all travelling on, together, as a family, bugging each other, then also playing music, and loving each other, at the same time – that was our life.”

“It was nice to go through the Ups and Downs together. Made us all stronger and Wiser in Life.”
