Friday set aside for mosquito control

National Dengue Control Unit says that it has proposed to set aside Friday every week for mosquito control.Its director Dr. Naleen Ariyaratne told the media yesterday that committees would be appointed at the school level to implement Friday mosquito control project.

He said that the number of dengue cases that have been reported in the country so far during this year stands at 62,711.The highest number of cases (30,500) has been reported from the Western Province. Thirty eight deaths due to dengue have been reported so far this year.
