French envoy in talks with Alles focuses on illegal immigration

Public Security Minister, Tiran Alles and French Ambassador Jean-Francois Pactet recently discussed ways and means of curbing illegal migration by Sri Lankans.

The meeting took place at the Public Security Ministry.

A spokesperson for the Public Security Ministry said that lawmaker Alles also requested the French Ambassador to facilitate a training programme for law enforcement officers.

France has recently deported approximately 90 Sri Lankans who entered the French territory illegally. The French Embassy, in Colombo, has warned that illegal immigration wouldn’t be tolerated under any circumstances.
