France pledges support to school midday meal project

Women, Child Affairs and Social Empowerment Minister Geetha Kumarasinghe yesterday said that she received an assurance from French Ambassador in Colombo Jean-Francois Pactet that France would support the ongoing school midday meal programme, through UNICEF.

Sri Lanka has received the backing of the international community to expand the free meal programme in the wake of the continuing economic crisis.
