Fox Resorts, medmber of the Maharaja Organization, became the second hotel chain to receive SLSI 1672:2020 certification for Covid safety measures. This is currently the only COVID-19 safety certification available for Sri Lankan hotels hosting local guests. Visitors at the Fox properties can now explore some of the island’s best kept secrets without worry, a Fox news release said.

The resort chain received their official certification in December last year, after multiple audits and stringent guidelines were set in place, covering both their resort properties in Jaffna and Kandy, as well as the head office in Colombo. The SLSI 1672:2020 certification for essential preparatory and prevention measures is the sole COVID safety protocol in place for hotels hosting local guests, the release said.

“It covers everything from hygiene practices to recommendations for handling suspected and confirmed cases of COVID-19 to protocols for isolation and quarantining if required. Fox Resorts is the second hotel to receive this certification in Sri Lanka, and Fox Kandy and Jaffna are the only hotels in their respective areas to have done so,” it added

“We made the decision to implement the necessary sanitization efforts and other precautions back in February 2020, because we take the safety of our guests and our employees extremely seriously. Over the last year, these protocols have become a routine part of our hotel’s practices. We want our guests to be able to come on holiday with peace of mind, so getting the official certification was the obvious next step,” said Chris Quyn, Chief Executive Officer of Fox Resorts.
