Fourth jab could be given if necessary
By Rathindra Kuruwita
Deputy Director General of Health Services, Dr. Hemantha Herath told The Island yesterday that a fourth COVID-19 jab would be given if necessary.
He added that their concern as of now was with administering the third jab.
“Three months have not passed since we have started giving the booster. So, we don’t know the level of immunity of those who had been triple jabbed after a few months. We will do the necessary testing and see what WHO and other nations do. However, if needed we will give a fourth jab,” he said.
Dr. Herath said that 76,994 jabs had been administered on Tuesday.
