Four paratroopers injured in mishaps

Four paratroopers had suffered injuries on Tuesday (30) during rehearsals for Independence Day celebrations, Air Force spokesman Group Captain Dushan Wijesinghe said.

Group Captain Wijesinghe said the two paratroopers were from the Sri Lanka Air Force, while the other two are attached to the Sri Lanka Army.

Two of the paratroopers were injured when their parachutes were entangled in mid-air.

Bystander videos also show the other two were injured when their parachutes failed to open.

The injured paratroopers are undergoing treatment.
