Four-day countrywide operation to minimise motorcycle accidents

A four-day countrywide programme was launched yesterday (March 31) to minimise motorcycle accidents, Police Spokesperson DIG Ajith Rohana said.

The operation, which is set to go on until April 3, will be carried out under the directives of the Police Headquarters.

The Police Spokesperson said that motorcyclists would be subjected to inspection during the operation.

In the meantime, eight persons, including three motorcyclists and two pedestrians had died in motor accidents on Tuesday, DIG Rohana said.
