All five of them are members of the police sports division.

Police said the two sergeants, and the two constables, were to report back to duty on 03 June. The sub-inspector had taken six months leave before leaving for England, police HQ said.

“He still has five months to report back to duty,” a senior official said.

Police spokesman SSP Nihal Thalduwa said that they had taken disciplinary action against the four men.Thalduwa said the four policemen had obtained personal leave for 10 days..

“Anyone can visit other countries. and Policemen also can do so but have to obtain personal leave for that purpose. In recent years, there have been no reports of policemen going missing when they visit other countries. There is nothing we can do except take disciplinary action,” he said.
